Amy Kathleen Senn said… My great-great grandparents, Gustav and Auguste Rosentreter, came to the United States in 1881. My great-grandfather was also a Rudolph, and he was born in Michigan later that year. They lived in what is presently Poland, but was part of Prussia at the time. Gustav apparently had several siblings, but I've only been able to track down two of them, Louise and Johann. Both settled in the midwestern United States. I read enough German that I've been able to trace my family back to the 1780s in Prussia. I've been surprised at how many apparently unconnected Rosentreter families there seem to be!
