Yes, I remember Suzanne. When I real little my parents would play Pinochle quite often with Aunt Sis and Uncle Ed and I remember Suzanne's Graduation picture on the wall in her nursing uniform. Funny... I had forgotten all about that until you mentioned her. Anyway, my email address is renee_0215@yahoo.com. Thank You!!
Well, my youngest daughter's name is Catherine Elizabeth and I was just blown away. My oldest daughter, Savannah, has a family name from my mother's side and I wanted one for Catherine, too; but just couldn't settle on one. Then 2 years later I found out, she most definitely has a family name. It was actually pretty cool. I would love to know anything you know about the family. Thanks!!
Hello there... Yes, I am Gene and Jill's daughter and I am sorry I haven't replied sooner. I am in nursing school and this semester has been absolutely crazy! I am very interested in knowing anything about the Avery's. I have to share a funny story that happened a few years ago which just peaked my interest even more. When my grandfather passed away in Florida - Theodore Leo Avery, Jr - we were down there for the funeral. I found where he had done some family research and I saw where there were several names down the line with the name Catherine Elizabeth.
Bradford Co., Pa doesn't ring a bell, but I've only just begun on the Blodgett tree. I looked at what I have and it doesn't appear I have a Bradford Co., connection.
As far as I know, my Swedish ancestor immigrants settled in western Massachusetts... Some of their kids drifted down into CT, but I know of none in NY State...
Sorry I have not replied sooner to your question regarding my relation to any Wolford's in Hampshire County. At this time, I don't believe I am, but I did go to school with quite a few & am in contact with at least one. Should I find that there is a family tie, I will let you know!
Jim, I'm just going through some old messages. You sent in a request to join the Guild of One-Name Studies group on GenealogyWise. However your name does not appear in our register. You might like to have a look at our website and see if you think you might be interested in registering a one-name study:
Hi Jim,
I'm the great-granddaughter of Mary Comfort Eberhard, who moved with her husband Llewellyn from Lehigh County, PA to Ohio shortly after 1900. Her parents were Lewis Comfort and Polly Schierer, also from eastern PA as far as I know. Does this sound like it connects with your line? If so, I'm happy to share what I have.
No Jim, did not want to post reason on reg board, but I have an eye condition and the clutter in the test room jumbles my vision and the colors of names distract so that I cannot follow the print.I can follow the regular room print because it has a definite line to it and no distractions like the log in log out etc.and colors
Thanks Jim. It was very interesting (I'm a big Ghosthunters fan). I have done the Pennsylvania Chats before - more of a lurker though. My husband's great grandfather and great uncle were at Gettysburg. There's a picture of the two of them there on the wall. But neither of them were killed there. They were from outside of Altoona in Three Springs.
Jim,
At this point, I do not know if I am related to any of the Wolford's of Hampshire County, WV. I did go to school with quite a few of them though. Do you have Shoemaker, Shumaker, or Schumacher listed in your lineage? I would be happy to compare notes.
Hi Jim - It was snowing and quite cool yesterday here. I live in High River just south of Calgary, Alberta about 20 minutes. Because I just couldn't break a couple of roadblocks in the family, I decided to check out GW more. Usually I don't join a chat room but thought maybe I could find some one with same problems that they may have found a way out. There are times when a person looks so long at something but misses the answer that can be to simple. As it is Big Valley's 100th birthday coming up they have asked me to write about 3 different family I am a member of. Will try to check in tonight.
Jim saw your post about putting names on photos I use Picasa to do that then save them and export to my documents from there it is easy to put them into files or just send to CD to burn them. If you don't have Picasa it is a free download from Google Picasa 3
