- For what reason did you start genealogy research?
- Finding an old record of my great grandmother's teaching career in Devon/Somerset (1870s) made me want to find out more about her life. A story re Purkess ancestors also interested me. A charcoal-burning Purkess allegedly found the body of William II in the New Forest, Hampshire, UK after he had been shot.
