Good morning Richard. I have been researching the Cremeans line for years now,off and on,as it takes so much time. I usually stop for awhile when I hit that "brick wall". It seems I have the same info. as you. I am reluctant to,even though I have  but tell people it's incomplete, to go past Higgins ,as I have yet to find ANY source that specifically shows his father. My father's line is Cremeans on both his mother and his father's side. Both from Burton Sr. ,both through Higgins and his 2 wives. My grandfather Charles L.on Burton Sr. and Polly Adkins, my granfmother on Burton Sr. and second wife, Jemima Cook Paul. So, my "tree" is sort of a pine. I am cintinually searching for Higgins father. I did find it interesting info. being that he named one son Moses after his uncle and his uncle Moses son Nathan named his son Higgins. My thought is maybe his parents both died and he was raised by his uncle and thus became like a brother to his cousins. All very confusing and extremely hard to track. Maybe someday. For now I keep searching. There are also lines of Bias/Byus and Reynolds mixed in with the Cremeans, both of which are my lines, also. Do you know anything on these?

Richard,

A name variant in the 19 cent and continuing, is Carmean. I believe. This variant is traced back to Immigrant John Cremeen, who arrived on the ship Crown Maligo, Oct 1677, into Maryland Province, from County Cork, Ireland, an indentured servant. Last time I looked there was a file, "descendants of Joh Cremeen" posted on rootsweb.com

Nice to hear from you.
