My connection to Virginia is Mooney,Stoneman and Godbey.
Mooney from Boone,Grayson and Mercer.I have not found my direct line in anyother counties there but I'm sure they are there.
Once WV became a state in 1863 alot of my line became connected to it.
Stoneman is from Carroll Co. and others.
Godbey from Montgomery and others.
The Stoneman name now has a web site. http://www.stonemanfamily.org/

I am trying to put together the family of Rudolph Brack/Brock. He was born in Switzerland, and died February 15, 1748 somewhere in Virginia. I think it is most likely Shenandoah County. I am descended from his son Frederick, born in Germany died in North Carolina. I know Rudolph had at least 2 children born in the USA. Rudolph was also called "Rudy" and "Rudal". I would like to find where he is buried and find more information about his wife Anna Maria.
Thanks! (and Hello everyone!)

I have Taylor ancestors who probably landed on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Thomas Taylor, John Taylor. I think a James Taylor, but he was the one who moved to Orange County and kin to the Zachary Taylor crowd.

My early Waltons I've traced to these counties, primarily; Albemarle, Hanover, and Pittsylvania. My 4th GGF Edward Byerus Walton, born in Albemarle, was an early Ky. settler.

Hi Adam, I should have defined the Eastern Shore of Virginia for those who aren't familiar with it. It is located east of the Chesapeake Bay and consists only of Accomack County and Northampton County. It is part of the Delmarva peninsula which also consists of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware.

Kye - in response to your question: sort of - I have family origins from Charles County, Maryland - the family migrated across the Potomac to Stafford County. Family names include Rogers, Stevens, Garrison, Atchison, Wright, Lugar (Lewgar), and Rowzee.

Any members of this group have ancestors who lived in the Eastern Shore of Virginia?

I saw a great quote that might be a good slogan for this group:
"In the Beginning All Was Virginia"
Not sure who to attribute this too.
