Anna Maria Andersdotter came to Chicago Illinois in 1887. She was born on 4 Nov 1862, in Hjälmseryd, Jönköping, Sweden. She is the sister of my great grandfather, Carl Magnus Sandstrom (Andersson).
He lived in Seattle. In his obituary (19360 it says that Anna Swanson is living in Chicago. So far I have not been able to find her so I could really use the help of anyone that has any information.

Thanks,
Don

There are a lot of Illinois records being indexed online. Try checking Record Pilot Search on www.familysearch.org and see if you can find her death\marriage\etc. Have you found her on any census? She should be there from 1900-1930.
Thanks for the reply. I have looked on the indexed records and so far have not connected her. Also have not had any luck with census records. I find Anna Swanson but really do not know if it is her. By a long shot I was hoping that I could post here and have someone that is her descendant find this and have the information I am looking for. I seem to do better with the Swedish records than the Chicago records.
Thanks again,
Don
Well, I tried to look both of them up via GenLine but no luck. GenLine only has births 1835-1860. Using the moving out register I find...
Pig. Anna Maria Andersdr. certificate #72 5/8 (Aug 5) from Bodaryd(???) to Amerika squezed in above her name is a little 6 (or f ) - 62. Probably a birthdate. I did not go to the hfl now that I have a possible farm name. You will need other family information to verify it is her family. If not, go back in time on the hfl until you find her brother.

Do you think that is her? Do you have ship register entry for her???? She would arrive around 5/9/87 or perhaps sooner depending how fast her travel schedule was. Ocean crossing itself was 14 days or maybe a little better.

Oh I love having GenLine! It cost a lot but I can look stuff up on a whim. I bot the sale price 995 SEK (140 USD) for 10 months.
Genline sucks.
It is only scanned, so it could be very hard to read the books and its very expensive. I use ADOnline wich photograph all the church books. That means that it is in colour so its much easier too read and its much cheaper than Genline.

Look at www.arkivdigital.se
I have information for the family in Sweden. They were living at Bodaryd. I have the Clerical Surveys covering the years 1856 through 1896 showing the family in each one. I also have the birth records and some of the marriage and death records. Five of the seven children in this family came to the USA. I am currently looking to find information on two that I have not yet found in the US. I would like to find some distant cousins. Two of the siblings lived in Colorado. One died not being married. The other died with one child but he never married. Thanks for the help.
Nice, let me know if I can help you
Thank You.
