Comment by Robert Edwin Partridge on November 16, 2011 at 6:43am Hi,
I'm in England and i'm researching my Partridges who lived in Gloucestershire (1500s-1800s) and Devon (1600s-today)
A number of them emigrated to Canada and U.S during these dates, are there are of you out there who have traced your ancestors back to places like Lapford,Nymet Rowland and Down St Mary or surroundings areas in Devon or are you part of the rich 'Wishanger' Partridge family of Gloucestershire who also lived in places such as Sheepscombe,Stroud,Birdlip and surrounding areas of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire.
Im interested in adding any Canadian or American cousins to my family tree
Hi, My maiden name is Partridge. My grandfather was Henry Edward Partridge (b. 1900) in East Brighton, Sussex. His father was Charles Edward Partridge (1873-1944), b. in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and his mother was Emily Hillman (1872-1920), b. in Sussex. Henry married Alice Dorothy Aishford, daughter of Joseph James Aishford from London (St. Luke) and Ethel Jane Rapson also of London (Islington).
I'm Canadian and have done most of my research on Ontario families, so I have found it challenging with my British ancestors to get the parishes straight with the civil jurisdictions! It doesn't work that way here in Ontario! lol
If any of you are researching Partridge's in the Cheltenham area or have experience reearching in that area, I would love to hear from you!
