Hi,
I have been researching my family history for a few weeks now, although my sisters have been researching for a number of years. Anyway, I can get my family back to John Stanley, living in Laceby with wife Charlotte Locking, her elderly father, and their children in 1841 census. John was born in Louth according to his birth certificate, father William Stanley born abt 1790? Any ideas or suggestions?
Regards,
Jacqui Stanley

A bit confusing, birth certificates weren't heard of until 1837! I can't find John and Charlotte in the 1841 census myself, but they appear to be in the 1851 census where there is a William Stanley at the ripe age of 92, which would give a birth date in the 1750's!

You seem to suggest you have found a record of marriage and a record of birth for John, if so you probably have a lot of clues to search further.
