I'm looking for my GGGGrandfather named John McClain born in Lexington, KY. He married Mary VanCleve in Dayton, OH. He was scalp and murdered by indians there in Dayton. I'm having trouble finding anything on him. I'll get the years to you later. Just want to get feelers out there. Thanks.

I am researching the surname ADAMSON in KY, especially in Crittenden and Union Counties.

I am reseaching My Mother's Family,The mostly Live in Pike County,Kentucky,My grandfather liveed in McVeigh,Ky,His Name was Floyd W Williamson,He was married twice his first wife was Mandy M Stump and his second wife was Zettie Mutter,Also does any one know where the Mutter Cemetery,Phyllis ,Ky is located all I Know is it is on a hill behind my Mom's Aunt's House

My maternal grandfather was born, according to Mother, in Bowling Green, KY in the early 1880s. Yet I have never found any record of him or his family anywhere in Kentucky. William Leslie Moodie born to William Lemuel Moodie. His mother's maiden name Gregg. I know I'm missing a lot of info. Where to start?

My Kentucky families helped settle Christian and Caldwell Counties in Kentucky after arriving there immediately after the Revolutionary War from South Carolina and Virginia. They were the EARLE, HOLBROOK, JENNINGS, and JORDAN families that married into the WOLFE & GRIFFIN families. My paternal 4th great grandfather was Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS,) (2nd son of his name,) born: January 1760 at Town Run, Fauquier County, Virginia, who married Tabitha WILLIAMS, born: 1766 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia, (daughter of George WILLIAMS, descended from two lines of WILLIAMS from England to New England & Virginia in the 1600's including Sydrach WILLIAMS, brother of New England's (Reverend) Roger WILLIAMS.) Samuel EARLE, IV, was the son of (Major) Samuel EARLE, III, of Cople Parish, Westmoreland County, Virginia, (1st elected Member of the House of Burgesses from Frederick County, Virginia,) and his 2nd wife, Elizabeth HOLBROOK. (Major) Samuel EARLE, III was 1st married to Anna SORRELL and they had the 1st born Samuel EARLE, IV born: 1727, died: 1752, married a Miss ? PERKINS, 1/2 brother to my Samuel, IV.

Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS,) (2nd of his name,) & Tabitha WILLIAMS were the parents of my 3rd great grandmother, Kitty EARLE, born: abt. 1795 either in South Carolina or Virginia, who married Bailey JENNINGS in 1811 in Christian County, Kentucky. Bailey JENNINGS was the son of Rachel TUCKER & her husband, John JENNINGS, (RS,) who was born in Richmond County, Virginia, (son of Sarah MOORE & Edward Salley JENNINGS, Sr., son of Ann KELLY & William JENNINGS, Jr., son of Mary WILLOUGHBY & William JENNINGS, Sr., son of immigrant John JENNINGS from England & his wife, Margaret PAYNE, daughter of John PAYNE & Margaret ROBINSON, daughter of Ann MORE & Richard ROBINSON, uncle of Christopher ROBINSON.) They were all of Old Rappahannock County, Virginia and John PAYNE also of Westmoreland County, Virginia. Ann KELLY was the daughter of Amy DONIPHAN and (Captain) John KELLY, son of Matthew KELLY & Penelope "Nelly" NORTON. Matthew KELLY was the son of Sarah WATSON and John KELLY/O'KELLY and Penelope "Nelly" NORTON's brother was Thomas NORTON and their father was Patrick NORTON, also of Old Rappahannock County, Virginia. I believe that Patrick NORTON married Margaret SULLIVAN/aka O'SULLIVAN/aka SWILLIVANT & SWELLIVANT, daughter of Cornelius of the same variations on SULLIVAN.

My Kentucky ancestors include Sarris HARRIS b. 1830 Morgan county, dtr of William and Susannah FAIRCHILD. Lived in Carter county 1850; married Lewis Henry KENDALL b. 1828 Russell county, Virginia, in 1855 in Lawrence county, Kentucky. Children James William, Celia Ann, John Allen, Henry Martin and Rebecca Susan all born in Rowan county. Family appeared in 1870 US Censue in 1870. Henry M KENDALL is my great-great grandfather. Anyone with knowledge of these surnames and seeking records from these counties? Thank you.
