Trying to learn more about Alice Ann LANE born December 1882 registered Jan quarter 1883 father Thomas Lane born London 1845, mother Sarah E Knott born 1860. Alice was the middle of 8 children and she married Tyson JACKSON 24th February 1906 at St. Paul's Sculcoates. They had 3 children, Tyson and Eva born in Hull and Minnie born in Huddersfield. Tyson died in WW1 in 1916 and Alice had 2 more chldren Phyllis in 1918 at 16 Ernest Terrace, Nornabelle Street and then living at 38 Mason Street in 1919 she was pregnant with Edith who was later born in Huddersfield. Phyllis and Edith were adopted in 1922/3 in Huddersfield. Minnie was fostered and all 5 died in Huddersfield.

I do have quite a bit more information if any of this is of interest to anyone. I have not been able to work out why the family moved backwards and forwards between Hull and Huddersfield. I was born in Huddersfield and I have no personal knowledge of Hull.

See what you mean Jean - I think it makes you look mysterious...
This is a long shot - but I wonder if your Lane's have any connection to John Lane, b. London c1848, married to Eliza Knaggs, b. Flamborough, 1849, at Bridlington in 1868. Family settled in Flamborough, although some moved later to Hull. John Lane's parents were James Lane, b. 1813, Stockwell, and Letitia, maiden name unknown, b. New Malden, c1823.
