Hi all

I am looking for information to help me find my Hodgson relatives.

My grandad is Sidney Hodgson who married a Scottish woman called Margaret Brown.

Any help is appreciated

Hi there,

Faith Hodgson married Thomas Hillary in  Grinton parish church, Yorkshire and lived up the hill in Marrick.  He worked in the lead mines.  In 1848 they immigrated with their children to Hazel Green Wisconsin.  I have several generations back on the Hodgson line.

Hi everyone, I'm a descendant of James Hodgson, born Oct. 16, 1874 in England (most likely Yorkshire but not sure) and who took his family and left for Canada, dieing in Niagara Falls, Ontario in 1949. Hard getting my research done on the family since England is so far away but I'm trying. ;)

I am trying to locate where my Great grandfather Frederick william Hodgson ( also known as William) born 1876 in Manchester lived in Leeds then moved to Coventry Warwickshire and he was a Motor Painter then he left in 1924 he left a note saying he was going to try his luck with Cousin Harry he had a sister Ethel and Maude who married a Reginald Schwitzguebel who is down on his daughters Marjories birth certificate as an Actor in 1903. was he part of any ones family???? thank you Polly

Hello all! My husband's line includes some Hodgson ancestors! I was the blessed recipient of his great aunt's research a couple of years ago (sadly I never got to meet her), and in it was quite a bit of info on the Hodgson family. Included was also a book The Hodson Story - Some Antecedents and Descendants of George Hodgson and Mary Thatcher 1684-1979 and Allied Families by Cordelia Bogue Wright, 1979.

Papers in her files include:
Jonathon Hodgson Will dated 6 Nov 1811 Clinton County Ohio. - lists brothers Joseph, John, George, Hur and Solomon; sisters Sarah Lovet, Phebe Sumner, Ruth Hauskins (?) and Mary Hester; nephews Daniel, Amos and Joel.
Marriage record of Solomon Hodson and Margaret Lamb (Mrs) dated 17 March 1836 in possibly Highland County, Ohio - Margaret was the widow of Caleb Lamb)
Jonathan Hodgson Will 21 Apr 1820 in Clinton County, Ohio - this will lists wife Mary and children Jonathan, John, Mathew, Enos, Elizabeth, Sarah and Mary.
Hur Hodgson Will dated 26 Sep 1846 inClinton County, Ohio - children mentioned: Elizabeth, Hannah, Joel, Mary Bond (married), Isaac, Jesse, Jonathon, John, Uri and Nathan and deceased son Ira (had left Hur land in Indiana on his death).

Thanks for the invitation to join the Hodgson Families Group. My Hodgsons are Thomas Hodgson b. ca. 1770 Durham Co UK, m. Mary Peart ca 1800 also b. Co. Durham UK. Love the Bishops Transcripts on familysearch.org. Have added/verified many family members, thanks to them. Their daughter, Esther, b 1811 (Durham) m. William Tinkler also Durham, my ggg-grandparents. In 1849, the Tinklers emigrated to Scales Mound Illinois, USA, then to Kansas in about 20 years. Thomas Hodgson has proved to be quite a common name in Durham, so have been stalled going back any further from Thomas and Mary. Willing to share what I have.

I'm looking for information on Levicey Hodgson, b: 1797 in Grayson, VA. The only other information I have about Levicey is good info on her husband John W. Holloway, b: 7 May 1791 in Campbell Co., VA, and D: 15 Nov 1846 in Grundy Co., MO. Also have found 5 children with dates and places of birth only. Have partial info on Levicey's father's line back to William Hodgson and Isobel Stockdale who were both born and married in England. I found most of the information I have on familysearch.com. Will be happy to share what I have if anyone needs it.
