Comment by Kate Wagner on August 26, 2012 at 5:36pm: I'm a direct descendant of William T. Hearne of the Eastern Shore of Maryland through his son, Jonathan. Jonathan's daughter, Elizabeth Hearne married Benjamin Cook Hardin. Their daughter, Harriet Hardin married William Shaw (Walker County, GA). Their son, Amos Lafayette Shaw moved to Tampa, FL and marred Helen Louise Wyatt (Sarasota, Manatee, FL). Their son, Raymond Lee Shaw (Tampa, FL) married Flora Turnpaw (Turnpaugh) (Tarpon Springs, FL) and their daughter, Mildred Shaw Wagner (Tampa, FL) is my mother. How I wound up in Maryland is another story (and was quite by chance! I've been ignoring this line of my family recently as it has been documented and I am focused on the Turnpaugh line who also settled Maryland a bit later in about 1752. I am going over to the Eastern Shore (Ocean City to be exact) in a little over two weeks and trying to get as much information on Hearne locations before I get there. I do think the grave site for William T. Hearne is near property my boss owns as I've seen "Hearne Lane" on a map of it. I'm working on that one and sent him an email this eening with a small map and a message "Does this look familiar?"

These brothers were both my g-g-grandfathers, since their children Charles Michael (Eli) and Catherine Jane (Wm) married & were 1st cousins. Mike & Katie's oldest son, Brackie was my mom's father.

Please refresh my memory. Which child of Nancy Ann & James William Bowie do you descend from? His parents were William Bowie & Meriah"Maria" Windham/Windom(spelled both ways).They are buried in the Mt. Herman Cemetery in Dover Twp.,Union Co.,OH. Her parents were: George Windham & Mary Card. We are in discussion now about who William's parents were.I have some more on the Windams & Cards if you want it. I'll send it to your e-mail. Let me know OK?

Though I haven't done any research on her ancestors, I thought I might get some hints for the Bowies, and her family, here. I'm grateful for any info I find as I search around. Of course, there is hardly anyone still living who remembers my grandparents, let alone this far back.

Comment by Pamela Ann Drake on July 15, 2009 at 2:54am: My 2xgreat-grandmother was Nancy Ann Hearn. She was born in 1817 in Washington Co.,OH. the daughter of Daniel Hearn & Elizabeth"Betsy"Wilson. Nancy Ann Hearn married James William Bowie on 21 May 1842 in Washington Co.,OH. My brick wall is: I don't know anything about her mother's Wilson family or for that matter Betsy either. Daniel & Betsy Hearn had moved to OH. from Sussex Co.,DE. His parents were:Nehemiah Hearn & Jain Callaway.
