Genealogy Tips and Links

This group was created for anyone who would like to add a link , or a tip for anything to do with genealogy. I really would like to get as many free tips , or sites as we could. However, I know there are some great pay sites out there for research.

My name is Tina Sansone and I live in the Memphis, TN area. I am the genealogy editor for Bellaonline.com (). I write about genealogy related articles and tips. I hope this site can help me with ideas and tips for my own personal genealogy. I have a facebook and a blog, . I look forward to learning and sharing with you all.

Geeps. let me tell you about.. seekingmichigan.org the site is death records from 1897-1920 actual images that you can print out. If you are researching MI in that time frame it is awesome. Be careful of searching though as the extraction spellings are not so great~ It is searchable by county; first name; surname and more.

Have you heard of the Virtual Surname Wall? It's a free service of the Southern California Genealogical Society. You can post your names and search the entries that have already been listed. You don't need to be a member of SCGS and the listing can be from anywhere in the world, not just California. Look for the Virtual Surname Wall icon on the right-hand side of the page at www.scgsgenealogy.com

Even an "old hand" can learn something new, and I'm always learning. I've several tips that I want to share with others. You can find them on ShoeString Genealogy and everything there is FREE.

You may copy anything you like, but when you share it please remember to give me credit. That's not so much to ask, is it?
