Town, County or State Archives???

I need to research my grandmother's brothers, who were in the Hackensack vicinity - - - approximately 1905-1920 time frame. Where's the best location to research birth, marriage, death records?

The best place I have found is the State Archives in Trenton , if you can make the trip its well worth the search the archivists are friendly and very very helpful , they have a very easy to search index and microfilm system for even the newest researcher work with .
