Two branches of the Abeles/Abels family meet after about 100 years.The gentleman on the left is David Abels Lederer,and the gentleman on the left is Jacques Abels,2nd cousins once removed.

The senior Horgan branch (Linda Lederer Horgan and spouse William) moved to Hawaii in 2004. Lisa Horgan, our daughter, lives in Burlingame, California.

Three siblings emigrated to America from Bohemia before the Civil War leaving their parents and seven other siblings behind. They were Joachim (Charles) Abels (1818-1892), David Alexander Abels (1826-1884),and Marie Abels Lederer (1833-1909). Many descendents live across the United States named Abels, Lederer, Strauss,Bayer,Antevil,and Horgan among others.We are just starting to reconnect the branches of the family that haven't met in iver one hundred years.
