Hi all, I have Cuban ancestors. Ramon Piña came to US in 1870s. His mother was Rose Lamy. He had 2 daughters with his first wife, Anita Multra; named Anna Rosa Piña & Amelia Piña. His second marriage is to Margaret Gunther, my great-grandmother & they settled in NYC. How can I find out more info on Ramon's parents? Does anyone recommend a Cuban Genealogical Society to join to help with this challenging heritage. Thank you.

Hi, In addition to my Valiente and Lemus lines.  I am also looking for any information for a Rosalia Evangelina Fernandez who married Jose Valiente in the late 1800's.  They were from the Santiago de las Vegas area.

Hello! I am trying to find info about my father, Jose Antonio Sousa y Costa. He was born in Havana in 1924 to Felix Luis Sousa and Zoila Luciana Costa. Unfortunately, that and a couple of birthdates are all I have. My father came to the US in 1949 through Miami, FL, lived in NY and then finally settled in Chicago. He was very secretive about his past. If anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You!

Hi everyone! My husband is from Cuba we've been together for 15 years and we have a 12 year old son together. I'm trying to find out some of my husbands family history and maybe get in contact with lost relatives! His name is William Reynaldo Fernandez. He was born in Havana at Maternidad Obrera on September 9th 1967 to Jose and Lidia Fernandez. His mother is from Camaguay, her maiden name was,(please excuse the spelling I'm doing this as a surprise) Pequedo? Peguedo?,Pegedo?, and his father is from Pinar del Rio. If anyone has any info that would be great! Please e-mail me at rheabird1975@hotmail.com Thank You!

Hello,

I'm new here, desperately seeking info on family that came from Santiago de las Vegas Cuba in the 1800's. Jose Valiente(b 1875 in Cuba), son of Rafael Valiente (b 1845?) and Maria del Pelar Lemus (b 1854). Any information would be appreciated. Email is myroots1961@cox.net

Hi all. I'm researching the Borges, Alonso, Fernandez, and Riveron lines. I'm fully Cuban.

Hi! I just came across this group while I was doing some research. I have been working on one side of my family with a last name of Boullosa. One document I have found on my ancestor states he was from Cuba, but when I found his obituary it said a native of the Canary Islands. I have found a few different spellings of the surname, but it appears to be more of a difference in who was doing the writing or spelling of it. I am not sure where to go next. I know these ancestors came into port at New Orleans and that is where i grew up as well. I would love to be able to continue tracing the lines back and to also find what happened to all of the family. I never had a chance to meet anyone from several sides of my family when I was growing up.
Hopefully I can learn how others are accessing records and get some ideas on what to do next.
Thanks
