I'm in the process of using the ancestry.com free trial, and found the following at first I thought it was an awesome find, but was reminded real uick why you take on-line family trees as clues and clues only.

Anyway here is what was on the oneworldtree -- I found it while searching Mary Russin -- Helen's sister.

Descendants of John Dempsey
Entries: 1273 Updated: Fri Aug 30 08:16:27 2002 Contact: Thomas Dempsey

I'm confused on what oneworldtree is and how it works. When I look at Thomas Dempsey's Descendants of John demspey I don't see Helen listed with the Russin family, however, this is what onefamilytree as.

For Helen and Mary's parent they had the following

Mike Russin
Born:
Died:

Anna Russin F

Helen Rose Russin F 1888 in Russia
Mary Russin F 1 Jan 1893 in Czechoslovakia

Mary Sewa parents are listed as

John Sewa

Anna Sewa F 12 Jul 1895 in Patkanivcji, Carpathia, Russia

However, they have the following has the father and a few more generations listed with him. As you can see the death day is wrong and Iowa as a birthplace that doesn't make since and an extra wife that doesn't belong. ANd no mention of Mary, the true second wife.

George Y Schreiner

In an email from Tom Dempsey on 25 Oct 2009, he explained that he had not put Helen or the Shriner info in his tree. He also said that Ancestry seems to compile family trees with like info. He is going to ask some of his wife's family if they know any more about the Russin family that they are related to.

I'll post as soon as I hear of something.
I emailed Aunt Sue to see what she recalls on her father's work history.

I also looked at George's WW2 card -- in 1942 he was working for Bethlehem Steel, Cokeburg, Washington County, Pa and living in Fallowfied Twp, Washington County, Pa.
Remember I said Helen (Babiak) Thomas was sending for SSI appication.

It came in and will attach below.

I know with all the stress I'm under with my mother-in-law being home and not being able to stand or walk -- It was an awesome email to receive.

I'm starting to think he was born in PA, or he has went to a lot of trouble to make sure everyone thinks he was.
