Thank you Rosemary Harris.
I put the death date as her birth date. Jane was born 11 Oct 1807 and died 04 Oct 1881. Her father John was born 1777 and her mother was born 1781. I will buy some credits and see what I can get.

Sorry Earl but your dates don't add up. Was John Hutcheson 104 when he fathered Jane and how could she marry 55 years before she was born.
If Jane was born in1881 you can get her birth certificate from Scotland's People by buying credits for 6 pounds which is about $US9. You can possibly get up to 5 certificates or parish record entries for the pre 1855 events for this amount.

I am researching my father's family, the Hunter's of Ayrshire. I am related to the Hunters of Hunterston and am a member of Clan Hunter.

My earliest Hunter is Malcom Hunter [b. 1680 Irvine, Ayrshire], but I do not know who his parents were.

Malcom's son, Edward Hunter [b. 1696 in Innerkip [Inverkip], Renfrewshire] married Elizabeth Ker/Kerr [b. 1700 Innerkip, Renfrewshire] about 1721.

I would appreciate help on any of the above names.

Thanks in advance.

My wife Janet ( nee Kerr ) family history goes right back to the Ayrshire Kersland Ker/Kerr Family line, as a direct lineal descendant Janet is the 15th Great Grand Daughter of William Ker the first recorded Laird of Kersland in about 1204, we have a lot of Ker/Kerr family history down through the Kersland and Auchengree Ker/Kerr Family line.

I am searching for the birth record Matthew McBlain Thomson born Jan 9, 1854 in Ayr (or so the family traditions say) I find his birthday consistently listed on that date in all documents I have uncovered and I have a lot of them.

I'm giving a presentation at the Immigration Family History Expo next week in Salt Lake City and would love to have that piece of information available.

Any ideas?

I am searching for CALLAHAN male who would have emigrated from Scotland to Canada at the time the undertakers were being sent to New Scotland to settle. He may have been involved with the Hudon Bay Company late 1800's. Would have married Native American Okanan woman..could have been a farmer or fisherman. A lot of Scot Royalty relocated and took their servants along. to Canada.

I have traced Robert Ker/Kerr back to Ayrshire where he left about 1770 for a brief stay in Ireland before moving on to Washington County, PA . He arrived with wife (Ireland - Jemima Morton) and daughter about 1774. He is said to be of the Kersland clan of Ker/Kerr rather than the borderland group. I think he was born in 1748 in Beith. Have tried to work out the Ayrshire Ker line but a lot of gaps and unknown.
