hello
I am hoping to find out what happened to my great grandfather, Nicholas Johns Trevena b. 1884 at Canterbury NSW Australia (BDM 5781/1884), he married Estelle May Curr at Burwood NSW Australia 19th March 1903, they divorced around 1916. The last record I can find of him is the decree nisi in 1921, after that he was never seen or heard of, can anyone give me any information or steer me in the right direction to find out what happened to him? I have been to the local genealogy society but to no avail. Thanks in advance.

hi Wayne

cheers
Debbie
Hi Deborah,

This would be a long shot. There was a N Trevena b abt 1884 who arrived in Southampton, England on 14 Feb 1922 on the "Balmoral Castle" having departed from South Africa.
THis N Trevena's country of last permanent residency was South Africa and his occupation was a miner.

This was found using Ancestry.com.au search. Record: UK Incoming Passenger Lists 1878 - 1960.
thanks Peter
it certainly is worth looking into
as it is the only lead I have so far

I have had a look at ancestry and as I am not a paying member I am unable to look at these records

is there any other way of looking at them or obtaining copies without joining?

also how do I look for records of people leaving Australia? is this possible?

Debbie
Hi again Debbie,

I am a paying member of Ancestry and I can do some searches and email the information directly to you if you wish

I'm not sure about people departing Australia but I will look into it

Cheers
Peter
