William Kerr

In the name of God Amen I William Kerr of Scott Township late upper St. Clair Township Alegheny County Penna, Farmer, late an associate Judge of the Court of Pleas of Allegheny County, being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make ordain and publish this my last will and testament in manner and for following viz.
I commit my soul to the God, hopeing for the pardon of all my sins through his Son, our dear saviour; my body I direct shall be buried at the grave yard at St. Clair Church.
1st To my dear wife Elizabeth I will devise and bequeath for and during the term of her natural life my Farm whereon we now live containing about sixty acres, with the appurtenances, and I give and bequeath to her absolutely all the stock and personal property an said Farm, and all the household property in our mansion house; and further I direct that out of my moneys and other personal property she shall receive annually on the 1st day of April in each year during her natural life the sum of Four Hundred Dollars ($400~), and in like manner Charles McCoole who has been with me for over sixty years, shall receive annually during his natural life the sum of One Hundred dollars and a horse on my farm while he lives.
2nd After the death of my wife if there should be any of my personal estate left I direct that it shall be divided as follows, first James Kerr the son of my brother Ebenezer shall receive the sum of Five Hundred Dollars $500 if there is then any of said personal Estate left. Joseph Reynolds Kerr son of my deceased nephew the Rev. Joseph Kerr dec., shall receive Five Hundred Dollars, and should there still be any of my personal Estate left I direct that the same shall be divided equally between the Rev. David Kerr, Mrs Mary Douglass Joseph K. Fulton and William Kerr.
3 Subject to the life Estate given to my dear wife, I will devise and bequeath to my nephew the Rev David Kerr, my said Farm for and during the term of his natural life., and after the death of my said wife and the said David Kerr, and subject to the life Estate herein given to them I will devise and bequeath my said farm unto William N. Kerr, son of the Rev. David Kerr, unto him the said Willim N. Kerr his heirs and assigns forever, hopeing that he will make a good and useful manner keep said farm while he lives in remembrance of the donor.
4. I appoint the Rev. David Kerr sole Executor of this my last will.
5 My double barreld shot gun with the accountraments I give a keep sake to the Rev David Kerr
In testimony whereof I have hereinto set my hand and seal this 26th day of October AD 1861.

Signed sealed published and declared by the testator the Hon. William Kerr in our presence as his last will and testament, and at his request and in his presence an in the presence of each other we have signed our names herto as witnesses
