Thanks Lisa, I do in fact have most of the information you sent, but I see that the ESS_06 tree I have on the GW site hasn't been updated since July. I will do that this evening. Steven

Hi Lisa, Thanks for this. I have added the details to my files, but I haven't updated the GW files yet. Steven

That's incredible news! So many family bibles have been lost. Just goes to show that one should never give up searching. I would certainly be interested in any details, including photos you might have.

I have recently been helping someone from Tasmania on this family. The only way forward from where we are currently is to look up some Essex parish registers at Chelmsford, which I will be doing next time I am over. To join the group, they have to go to the group page and click 'join this group' (or similar). Otherwise, send me an email address and I will send an invitation.

Congratulations, exciting times for you !
The Eleanor Fogg marriage was one of the updates I had made to the files. I found it while I was at the Salt Lake City library in March, when I systematically went through the Fyfield PRs. In fact there may not be very much else new in the files since January, as I was not concentrating on this particular family. I am systematically going through all the families and updating them on GW.

Hi Lisa, I haven't heard from you in a little while. This is just to let you know that I have updated the files for the Essex Whit(e)bread family #6:

Do you have anything to add to what we already know on this family ?

Hi Lisa, Yes I was aware that Charles and Jemima Drane were siblings. I have now made a note of that fact in my file. In my family, I have an Emily Ruth Whitebread who married Thomas Ogilvie in 1870. They had seven children before Emily died in 1892. Thomas then married Emily's younger sister Caroline, and had one more child with her. Steven

Hi Lisa, Have you seen the instructions I gave you on the GW Group page (http://www.genealogywise.com/group/whitebread_whitbread_ONS), in reply to your question?
"Go to the discussion group listed above called 'Index to the known Whitbread ... families". There you will see the families listed according to county and family. Click on "ESS_06", and that will take you to the discussion group for that family, and there will be two files attached."
Make sure you click on 'Follow this discussion', otherwise you will not receive an email when anyone posts something. This can be switched on or off for each discussion you might be interested in (or not).

Hi Lisa, Did you manage to find the files ? I should point out that the basis for this family tree came from another researcher, since deceased, who based his on an even earlier version from an Uncle I believe. I was able to demonstrate that some of the tree was incorrect. I believe I have straightened most of it out, but there are certainly still some questions. I believe some information could have been based on family documents or a family bible, but if that was the case, my contact (Roger Cross) no longer had access to them. The main problem going into the 18th century is the number of Thomas Whitebreads in Essex, and it is not easy to prove which was which. Steven
