Hi Ron: thanks for your reply to my query on the Lancashire page. The reason I think that Minnie Bowers name might be Mary is that her mother's name was Mary and I think they may have given her a nickname to keep the two straight. I cannot find a birth record for her under the name Minnie although I did find one for each of her half siblings and her full sister Sarah Ann Smallman Bowers. So I assume that Minnie isn't her real name. Anyway, thanks for your input. Debbie Burr in Ontario Canada
Whoops, I thinkI just left the wrong message in the wrong group box...
Ferguson, right.... too early in the morning, haven't finished my coffee, and in the middle of packing to move - I think I have more geneology supplies etc boxes than kitchen boxes! too dam many branches to remember!
Any Ontario Ferguson's here - going back to maybe 1900 or before? And one interesting name- Hazekiah - assume I spelled that right.. I'm on the wrong computer - if that rings a bell let me know! I have lots of info which I have come across, and have yet to cross and double check it all so any input would bed appreciated and happy to share all I have!
okay - I think I've got it! Comment Wall, not comment Box. I thought that went only to one person.
Anyone here looking for ancestors in Prussia? obviously, its highly doubtful any vital records survive, but there may be other records someone has found with names in it at least! I'm looking for the Posen area, around 1800, and possibly well thru the 1800's, I'm not sure. Rich family I understand, whose wealth probably disappeared with the fall of the Prussian Empire about 1875. Fiedler is the name- Henry Fiedler, born sometime around or before 1800 is the family I am looking for. And any info on how or where to look! Language is a barrier here too. How do you people handle that? I have a German friend, who does speak the language, who is going back home this month. She would probably do some looking for me, if I knew where to send her!
Good Morning Ron; Most of the Parish Records are on Microfilm and are availible to view from The National Library, in Kildare Street, Dublin.
www.nli.ie will show you what they have, there is a list in there somewhere listing all the Parish Records that they have.
Regards Alan.
