Research from the VA on an ancestor in the military?

Does anyone know the process to get information from the VA on an ancestor who was in the military from around 1889-1903?  He was in the Spanish American War and was a "Rough Rider".  He was with Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders at San Juan Hill and other places.  He was wounded at San Juan Hill and in the hospital for awhile but was still enlisted after that until at least 1903.  I appreciate any help.  Please email me at jenicoe2001@yahoo.com..…See More

Hi Jenni - I came into the chat room just as you left. There is a schedule of the chats under the word chat. Just below the Join the Chat link you used to get to the room. I am hosting a PA chat at 9 pm eastern on Sunday and a Paranormal chat Tuesdays at 10 pm eastern. Gen Trek is a good chat to go to for research topics. There are others listed there too. Hope to see you in a chat.
