I'm interested in my family history. My grandmother got me interested in my Welsh heritage. My mother was adopted and I'd like to find out something about that branch of the family, thought at this point, it's almost impossible.

Thanks, Susan, for your reply.  I'm home now and will try to get up enough nerve to contact that Bangor archivist once again. I do believe he was embarrassed when I showed up there at the end of June and he had never really responded to my February e-mail.  Udowil/Ildoel/Ildoorl is probably a farm, now that I think of it, as many of the farms in Norway were named when we visited there.  Hopefully he or one of his secretaries can locate some sort of map.  I see there are several sorts where the Explorer map seems to have the most detail.  You would think he would be interested in the historical mapping choices, but I just hope I'll get a response this time.  Wish me luck!  Carolyn
