New Family Search does not have the records that have been indexed. Go to the home page of the old Family Search and click on the tab Search Records. Then go to Record Search pilot. It looks to me like anyone would be able to use this.

They must be doing something or having a problem with their website. You can't connect with them with anything on the Home tab, but you can search IGI or the internet.
