Hi Deborah,
Are there any Shields connected with your Threlkelds? I do have my Shields connected to Dunn in Mercer and Parish in Nelson Co. Also while researching, I have foundboth Dunn and Parish in early OwenCo. IN land records. Many of the names found there came from KY, maybe thre are some of yours.
Im looking for mainly for Shields in MercerWash./Nelson Cos. Ky. Thanks

Hello, I am Beth Dilleshaw Dilleen, My maiden name Dilleshaw was made easier to read when my ancestors came from France as Hueguenots. They settled in South Carolina. The original spelling was De La Chaux. I have been tracing my family tree for about 10 years, My ancestors came from France by way of England in 1790. It would be nice to hear from you. Beth

Thank you for responding. I'm thinking Mr. Bailey did not put my line of Sallee in his book.
There were men named Early in Bedford Co., VA, and adjacent counties in the late 1700's. I have more than one ancestor who moved from that area to Kentucky. You may wish to check this out. I had an early Early, who lived before this time.

One more comment. I have seen that Abraham Sallee may have lived in New York before Virginia. Have you read about the earlier pirate Sallee who had a son or grandson named Abraham, mentioned in New York. I believe it may have been his son who used the Dutch name Jans van Sallee. I have ancestors through another line who lived in New Amsterdam. One was a Lewis and another was named Jans. It is very curious. Any comments?

We may have other ancestors in common besides Sallee. If my research is correct, I descend from Henry Lewis who married Anne Buford, daughter of John Beauford/Buford (1707-1778) and Judith Early (1710-1787). I recognize more of your posted surnames as those married to siblings of my direct lines. My g.g.grandfather was Simeon Buford Lewis who migrated from Virginia to Kentucky, Indiana, and Missouri.

Hello - I have Jinney Sallee (b. c1790) married 1810, Greene Co., KY to William P. Jackson. Jinny or "Jane", as I have seen the name given, was the daughter of John Sallee. It seems we may share Abraham Sallee and Olivia Perrault, and their son William who married Elizabeth Givaudan as ancestors. Eric James, at his web site Stray Leaves, says my line descends from William Salle, Jr to son John, but I have seen no documents. Do you know anything about this?

Just got back home and settled enough to look on here and Linda said that her family came from Henrico Co, VA as well and lived along the James River. We'll have to look up who exactly came to KY and where they settled and get back to you.
