- For what reason did you start genealogy research?
- I recently was told who my real father was (but he passed away when I was 9 in 1981. I also have "rumor" or history of Native American Heritage on my mothers side but have run into brickwall in proving: Stops with Hungarin great great grandparents: but family swears there is French and wendat Indian.. so was thinking maybe it was a case of Indian assimilation with no offical record of the placement ..so stumped because ellis island records for great great great grandparents say Hungary. So would like to get mtdna test to see if there is any truth at all to it and then investigate further. I do have a BA in Interdisciplinary Antropology so I am educated in many areas (cultural, history, biology) (just not an expert in any.. :( ) . So I thought. next step was genealogy.
