In Andre's first marriage at St-Pierre-de-Sorel, on the 10th of January 1837 (NOT 1834) to Sophie Lavallee, he is quite clearly called "Andre Leroux dit Cardinal," adult age son of the deceased Andre Leroux dit Cardinal and Josephte…

Thanks, Denis. The second marriage took place in Ste Victoire. What are the chances that Andre was buried from St-Pierre? I am not sure, because in the marriage record w/Marianne Ethier, it said that he was "de cette paroisse"…

I don't see that Jan. 1834 wedding in the St-Pierre de Sorel registers (civil copy) either, so that database may be dubious...

This is my great great grandfather, Henri Crevier, born 1861 in Ste Marie de Monnoir, Quebec. As you can see he was an entertainer before becoming a full time farmer and stone mason in New Braintree, MA. He died in 1917, way too young!

Help with Leroux family

Hello all French-Canadian cousins... I need a little help. I have all but exhausted my search for a death record of Andre Leroux, b. about 1811, married (1) to Sophie Lavallee and (2) to Marianne Ethier (in 1860) My great great grandmother, Mathilda Leroux Crevier was one of Andre and Marianne's daughters. Marianne and children appear in the US 1880 census in Woonsocket, RI. there is also a record of the death of a 9 year old daughter Armine (or Hermine) in 1879. Hi, Daniel! When you get back from your meetings/business trip--and have a chance--you ought to drop around the chat room.

I'm usually there--off and on throughout the day and into the evening hours also, sometimes quite late.

Keep in touch!

Hi Daniel! I didn't find a Toussaint Gaudin in my family tree. However, Pierre Gaudin dit Chatillon is considered the common ancestor of all the Godin/Gaudin's in Canada, so I have little doubt that there's a connection there somewhere!
