I am not a 'Professional Expert', however, I do love research. I am a Registered Nurse by trade, but have been researching our family history for 30 years. I love a good mystery and have had great success in finding questionable information and proving it. Recently, I have been able to solve 2 great mysteries that had me stumped for over 20 years. Hallelujah!

Which Maitlands are you researching? My great-grandfather George Maitland, was from Bridge of Allan, Scotland. He is the child of William and Sarah Laurie (or Lawrie or Lawrence) Maitland.
