Here are some sites I use on a regular basis to get you started...most are easy to follow to get what you are looking for but if you have any problems...let me know. I know the frustration of looking when there is so little to go by.....I started with my dad telling me when I was ten......a long time ago......my family came to KY very early, they were French Huguenots and their last name was Montfort....that was it. Now that line is my specialty.....lol..best wishes in your hunt......barb

At 6:12pm on May 28, 2011, Barbara Whiteside said…: Hi Brenda....my married name is Whiteside and his family settled in KY as early as 1790...coming from VA originally......I am familiar with the Whiteside name in the Carolina and I do know DNA has proven they are related but further back then 1790 for sure. There used to be a Whiteside website with info on DNA....not sure if it is still up and running.....will check then get back to you if I find the info.
