My immigrant ancestor to America from the EARLE/de ERLEIGH lineage was my paternal 8th great grandfather, (Sir) John EARLE, Sr., born: 1614 at the EARLE estate at Nye, Winscombe, Somerton, Somersetshire, England. He immigrated in 1649 into St. Mary's County, Maryland quickly settling Yeocomico Plantation along with another of my paternal 8th great grandfathers, Thomas HALE. John EARLE's 1st wife, my 8th great grandmother, Mary SYMONS, born 1618 in Gloucestershire, England, immigrated in 1652 with 3 of their 4 children, Samuel EARLE, I, (my 7th gr grandfather,) Mary EARLE, and John EARLE, Jr. while William EARLE stayed to finish his education and is believed to have immigrated later. Mary SYMONS is believed to have been the sister of the Francis SYMONS that immigrated with (Sir) John EARLE, Sr..
