My paternal lineage is believed to be from my 5th great grandfather, (Chief) John BOWLES, Sr./aka D'IWALI, aka Too-wah-yello, aka Bold Hunter, born: abt. 1750 in North Carolina, who died July 16, 1839 in what is now Cherokee County, Texas. I'm still trying to find out more to prove this lineage, if possible, but it is from an earlier marriage than his other three known marriages probably when he was in Georgia and to a Cherokee woman called Beaver Toter who possessed deeds to land in Georgia just 3 years after the Cherokee Chiefs were given the first deeds to their lands.

My MYRICK-PIERCE lineage is believed to be from (Chief) John BOWLES whom I believe was Cherokee & Shawnee as well as having the Celtic blood that he was known to have in addition to British blood...from BOWLES, WATTS, PASMERE, CARPENTER lineage though disputed by some.
