I am gathering information on ancestors who lived in Mecklenburg County, throughout the 1800 and 1900's: Dodson, Rowlett and Strickland. Any information or stories about these families would be appreciated.

Hi everyone. I am researching my husbands line. Some of the surnames are Wolfe, Kimberlin, Tucker, and Wright. For the most part, these surnames have been in these two counties(Alleghany and Botetourt) for over two hundred years. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, J.R, I would be interested to find a connection, since I don't know who Malinda's folks were, or even what state they were born in. Do your Tennessee Foxes have a daughter named Malinda who was born in 1812?

Hello everyone........I am a descendant to Samuel Fox of Amherst and Nelson County Virginia. (Afton Va.) Also I believe my descendants owned property in Albemarle County as well. I have been trying to find information on this particular descendant for quite sometimes as the first records we have of him was working on a road gang in Nelson County Virginia 1769. Samuel Came over from England on a ship called the Brothers and landed somewhere in Maryland. We dont know how he ended up all the way down in the Western part of VA. but we have no marriage record of him that we can find. Any pointers?

Lookin for family information on Abraham van Soldt who came to Virginia ca 1650's. He was born 1630 in London from a merchant family from Antwerp/Brussels.

These are the only rare recordings found so far. Because of the 20+ variants the family name has been found under, it has been difficult to find additional information.

In Colonial Residents of Virginia's Eastern Shore by Houston and Mihalyka on
page 108 - Abraham Van Solt is listed as age 28 in July 1658 (Northampton
Book VIII folio 27.

In Northampton Co. Va. Record Book -Volumes 6, 7, &8 - page 167 by Dr Howard
Mackey and Marlene A. Groves CG - At the request of Abraham Vansalte (who
married the Widdow of Paul Rynurse) two cows and all their increase male and
female are this day recorded for John Rynurse son of the said Paul Rynurse
to him and his heirs forever. (Then follows a discription of the cows)
Recorded 24th of September 1657.

In Northampton County Va. Record Book Volume 7 by Dr. Howard Mackey and
Candy M. Perry - Page 169 - Children baptised in Hungars Parish from the 25
of March 1661 unto the 25 March 1662 - Elizabeth Vansolt daughter of Ab. &
Eliz. Vansolt - Oct 13th.

In the book "Ye kingdome of Accawmacke, or, The Eastern Shore of Virginia in the seventeenth century" He is listed in the 1666 Tithtables for Northampton County as Abraham Vansoult, also in this book he may also be the one referred as Abram van Slot.
