I'm researching my Virginia ancestors of the surnames of Ward, Woodhouse, Gallup, Lockwood, Cannon, Kellam, Buskey, and James (Princess Anne County) and the surnames of Mears, Edwards, Quillin, Rolland, and Blaine (Norfolk). I'm also researching my extended families (by marriage) of Levine and Rosenthal of Norfolk, Virginia. I live in Norfolk.

I am descended from Henry Baker (born approx 1680) of Isle of Wight County. Henry's first wife was Angelica Bray.

Lisa.........I have quite a bit of information on the Martin family around that area. Most of them settled in Albemarle,Amherst and Nelson Counties. I also have some from Pittsylvania county as well.

I have hit a wall in my search for James CLARE/CLAIR, born 1794 and married Ruth SMEDLEY in Alexandria Virgina? I read that some of the census records were destroyed in a fire. Any suggestions for a substitute?

I am stuck on my CLARK line with James W. Clark who was born in 1800 and died in 1877. He is buried in Horsepasture, Henry Co., VA. Many think his father may be a Henry Clark but I can't find the connection. If anyone is looking at this line the the Patrick/Henry Co area please contact me.
