Does anyone know anything about the Swedish who settled in this area in the 1850's.  I would like to know if they came from a certain area in Sweden.  I think there were quite a few families there at that time.  Thanks,

Laura

Laura, I know some came from Jonkoping lan. Who are you researching and I may be able to help?
My Gt Gt grandparents came to Princeton to meet up with family members. No one in my family has any info on their home in Sweden, so I thought maybe if there was anyone who had any info on the Princeton area they might be able to shine some light on our quest. The name is Olaf and Julia Johnson.
I have a relative who went to Andover in 1849. Are you near there? My family came from Vastra Eneby/Kisa area.
I'll start looking. Do you have any dates? Olaf Johnson is a pretty common name. Children's names would help too.
Often in sweden the people of the same parish went to the same area becuse of the word spread around about the people, climat and the soil. But the swedes that already have left for America was important becuse when the newcommers came they knew some people
