My southall's are from the Sedgley area in the UK. Convict brothers were sent to Australia and their brother later followed with his family, accompanied by their parents.

5.4.1.6 Thomas Horton b 1821, chr 6 Jan 1822 (Sedgley) – d 1889 ( Victoria ). Thomas Horton and brother William arrived in Geelong , Aust. on the ship Joseph Somes on 24 Sep 1847. The trial court DYB Derby Azzises sentenced the pair to 15 years on 29 Jul 1845. They were convicted of a felony and were granted a conditional pardon on arrival in Australia.

5.4.1.9 Enoch b 5 Feb 1829 (Hirnant, Wales ) – 4 Aug 1917 (Ballarat, Aust). Enoch, the youngest brother, appeared to follow the brothers and arrived in Sept. 1857 aboard the General Windham. He was accompanied by his parents, Benjamin and Elizabeth, his wife Sarah JOHNSON, and their children:
