"van Solt" Coat of Arms as recorded in the Armorial General by J B Rietstap
This arms were recorded for the "van Solt" family from Liege. Mr Rietstap accurately describe the arms in his world famous Armorial General in the late 1800's. When V + H Rolland brothers decided to illustrate them they drew "8" stripes instead of the correct "10" stripes. This arm is associated with van Solt/Soldt family from Liege who went on to Antwerp, then to London, and returned to Amsterdam. No connection to American "Solt" family has been proven to date.

This is the oldest evidence to date of the van Solt arm shown here parted with "van den Eertwegh"
Ida van Solt married D. van den Eertwegh who was the Mayor of Liege (pre 1600's)

This is not the same coat of arms that I have in my files for my SOLT family from Germany.

I am so sorry. This is how the van Solt arms is displayed in the 1903 Illstrated version of the Armorial General.
I have already collected this phony version produced by the thetreemaker.com website. I have also contacted them, gave them correct description and its origin. They will hide behind the claim that source of the information is to valuable to give out because competitor's want the information. This code for I can make up any arms I want and sell it to the public as authentic arms. Their artist must have partied the night before because of thier attempt to reproduce the V + H Rollands picture of the arms. There 8 stripes are uneven and also incorrect. The reason is the french term used in heraldry that is usually preceeded by the number 8, 10, 12, etc even #'s. But when it is not like in the description the standard is 10 (The way Rietstap practiced heraldry customs) Their artist also takes the Mill Rind (fer de moulin-french, molenijzer-dutch, millrynd-old english, fer de moline-sp/it)
and turn it on its side and stretch it out. When you look in my album you will see a mill stone with one in it.
I hope more Solt's do not buy this phony arms from thetreemaker. It is really sad they know it is wrong, what is worse, that if actually wanted the correct arms they will charge an extra 10 dollars to every item you order!
