My Sauer line is through Minnesota from Saxony. Thanks to a cousin who lives near Dresden who I first met on line, I can trace family back to the 1600's My Great Grandfather, Traugott Sauer, had 8 children in US, then went back to Germany, married again and had 11 more children! Wow!

I'm looking for information on Susanna Sauer born c1769 marr. Jonathan Beckner (son of Lawrence) c 1786 in Botetourt, VA.

My g g grandfather was Charles Sauer b. abt. 1837 in ?Prussia. He married Gertrude Faylich. Their daughter Mary married Hermann Kastens in 1892 in Chicago, IL. They had 2 daughters and 1 son.

Our immigrant was Wendelin Sauer, son of Thomas Sauer and grandson of Urban Sauer of Hartheim, Baden (Germany). Wendelin was born in Hartheim and came to Cincinnati around 1848. (Got lots of information on him, ancestors, and descendants.) My mother was a daughter of Louis W. Sauer.

Yes, who knows when the spelling of names were changed. I have a few lines like that, where the surname is spelled differently throughout the records.

My wife's Sauer line are from Bavaria and settled in Indianapolis.

Hi ~ My line spells is "Saurer" but close enough! My Saurer's are from Switzerland - Canton Bern.
