Attached is a file showing only the first three generations (about 23 pages). Will be glad to exchange data on any of the above mentioned families as well as the ones listed in the Desc. from William the Conqueror. They are my direct lines. Have LOTS more (database around 20,000), just ask. Thanks, Jim.

Thanks! On a related topic -- I have, off and on, over the years, been trying to complete a chart -- believe it or not -- of the ancestors of Edw I. To say this is a quite extensive project grossly understates its scale, but in the process it is a nice way to get to "know" the ancestors, if only in a very sketchy way. In the map-size context they are displayed, their positioning in the centuries is thus more easily remembered, as well as who their contemporaries were. My question is: Do you know of anyone who has already done this? I would be interested only in the displayable data in a small font (say, size 4-6) and closely enough bunched together so that the chart would be only eight feet in height or so. This wouldn;t of course include siblings except in the more recent generations, but definitely would have pertinent b, m, & d dates and places and, where possible, very abreviated important life events and titles. Does this monster chart sound like anything you have ever read or heard of? Or maybe software that would limit the spacing that so often limits close bunching of data?
Somewhere, I read about a company that does large chart printouts of gendoms submitted. Unfortunately I do not remember the name. However, they were on the internet so try a google search. I think the cost was around $30 or so.
Thomas, attached is an Ahnentafel for Edward I. I tried to do a collapsed lineage chart but my program would not let me save a file that way. Additions/ corrections are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Hi James-

I have the following additions/corrections to the ahnentafel of Edward I:

-#128 Geoffrey III's father was Hugues du Perche, whose ancestry is unknown. It has been proven that Geoffrey II was not his father, but rather his mother's first husband.
http://sbaldw.home.mindspring.com/hproject/prov/geoff002.htm

-#140 Duncan I's birthdate not stated in any primary source as far as I know. Do you know what source you used for it?

-#268 Robert de Chateau-du-Loir died on June 30. The year is uncertain, but is somewhere from 1065-1067.
http://sbaldw.home.mindspring.com/hproject/prov/rober002.htm

#536 Hamon de Chateau-du-Loir's father is unknown, but his paternal grandmother is known to be Rorans (see below).
http://sbaldw.home.mindspring.com/hproject/prov/hamon000.htm

#2144 Rorans is a female, not a male. She is the paternal grandmother of #536 Hamon de Chateau-du-Loir.

I'm sure there are others, but I don't have time to check the whole thing. Good luck with your project!
Aericus,

Thanks for the corrections & sources, actually I had notes re: Geoffrey III's parentage, although it indicated that Geoffrey II's was the most accepted as father.

Re: Duncan's birthdate, my reference for that was Monarchs of Scotland by Stewart Ross, p. 37.

Again, thank you for your input, Jim.
Jim, thanks tons for that! For some reason I missed the email announcing that you'd posted it. I've downloaded it and will go over as much as I can to maybe spot a typo if there is one anywhere! Fascinating detail though. Love that level of detail! More later...
