Their are rumors that the Rhodes come from England but that is not my direct line and I am told that there is no proof of that. The last I heard is Butler Co. AL records ended.

I am sorry my line stops in AL and I do not have any info from the Rhodes in NY. But I have seen on Facebook quite a few Rhodes from NY and I would look there and send them a message, maybe they can help you.

Hello Rhodes,

I (U5a1b1) am stuck tracing my maternal DNA with my ggg grandmother Mary Rhodes b 1787 in Jamaica NY....Any Ideas?  John Rhodes/Roads was one of the founders of Jamaica NY in the 1600s and many Roads/Rhoads men took part in the revolutionary war efforts.  On another side of my family the Carpenters marry many Rhodes women.....I would appreciate any help.  Cordially, Donna Young
