Comment by Donna L Yates on March 4, 2010 at 1:30pm: Brickwall? I've got a dozy. My PATE ancestor is David Pate, m Susan Mary LASSITER, ca 1856-57, Carroll Co., Ark. So far, neither my cousins or I have ever found his birth place or date or parents. Family lore says he was from IL.

I must let you know, I am not new to genealogy. I've been researching since 1953. The most data we have on David is when he lived in CA.

Comment by Jan on September 16, 2009 at 9:16pm: I am a descendant of Jesse Pate from Jackson Co., GA. His wife, Mary-Polly Ammons, is a descendant of David Jernigan, from NC, a Revolutionary War patriot. The Pate family, historically, was Methodist.
