The Icon represents the ocean our ancestor's crossed to come to America and how it must have looked those long nights at sea.

Some of you may not be aware of Joel Pate's listserve. Very active and informative. Please check it out.

Hi everyone: QUESTION

I am considering changing the icon for the group since there are at least 2 different PATE Family crest.

I will present several samples and then you and root for the one you want OR you can vote to not change it at all.

Check back here later today, in the discussion section.

Happy Saturday to every one.

Donna, seeking an answer, will post it when I get it.

Brickwall? I've got a dozy. My PATE ancestor is David Pate, m Susan Mary LASSITER, ca 1856-57, Carroll Co., Ark. So far, neither my cousins or I have ever found his birth place or date or parents. Family lore says he was from IL.

I must let you know, I am not new to genealogy. I've been researching since 1953. The most data we have on David is when he lived in CA.

My Pates in Illinois and Missouri seem to have been Methodist also. I wonder if we are connected!
If you read the discussion above, you will see that I do not have much information to work with as yet.

I am a descendant of Jesse Pate from Jackson Co., GA. His wife, Mary-Polly Ammons, is a descendant of David Jernigan, from NC, a Revolutionary War patriot. The Pate family, historically, was Methodist.
