There's a book called "Good-bye my Land of Enchantment : a true story of some of the first Spanish-speaking natives and early settlers of San Miguel County, Territory of New Mexico" by Alfonso Griego. Very similar story to my family history from my mother's side - surnames Baca/Garcia. It goes into details of daily life, food and everything. Stories my Mother had told me from her childhood matched up, like the "mis crismes" tradition.

Currently reading Finding Your Mexican American Ancestors, by George & Peggy Ryskamp. It has been a fantastic book so far and has really helped me to understand the records in New Mexico especially before 1848.
