Jeebic (sp?)

This isn't necessarily an ancestry question but it kind of ties in.  I was talking with my grandmother yesterday about her grandparents and she says her grandma told her the only reason she married her husband was because her sister used jeebic (I think that's how you spell it?  It's pronounced g-bic) on her and that it was some kind of Indian love potion.  Does anyone have any knowledge of this at all?  They were Ottawa if that makes a difference.
