Thomas LOWERY has been elusive prior to his immigration to San Augustine Co, TX in 1836. He WAS living on the western edge of Pike Co, AL from abt 1831-1836. I have located his AL land patent and a deed for additional property next to his patent. I have also found his deed where he sold this property before going to TX in 1836.

We have been using, as the first wife, a Sarah PARKER who is reported to have married a Thomas LUTTY in Newton Co, GA on 1 Jan 1836. This does coinside with his movement and immigration to AL and the birth of the first son, George. I am now seeing works on the internet that show the first wife's name as Sarah NEEDHAM with the same marriage date. This itself is interesting, since Thomas's 3rd son is named Needham.

Not much is known about Thomas or his siblings and parents before this time. I am betting on a close relationship to a George LOWERY who was also in Pike Co, AL in the 1830 and living only a few miles from Thomas. This George married Elizabeth COX in Franklin Co, GA but moved to Union Parish, LA in the 1840s. There is also a James LOWERY who was in Butler Co, AL who married a Leah COX we believe in Franklin Co, GA. This James stayed in Butler Co which in 1867 becaume Crenshaw Co as did the location of George and Thomas.

Thomas married twice more in TX and this info is documentd very well. If you have any information or comments on any of these names, please contact me. Thanks and good luck and good hunting in your researches.
