Attached is what I have on the LALANDE dit ST-LOUIS family, I have not carried the ST-LOUIS families on as I am only interested in those who continued the LALANDE or LALONDE surnames (enough to keep…Continue

This is from my LALONDE database. I only carry the LALONDE / LALANDE male lines foreward. This is a work in progress, so it is not complete.  Generally, I have not made a point of carrying the male…Continue

This site is too quiet, I was hoping everyone would post their connection/descent from a LALONDE to see how we are related. Don't be shy. Jim.

La Londes reconnaissances = La Londes remembered a newsletter published by Tara N. La Londe Bangsberg. The Family History Center has issues of this newsletter available on microfilm. Holdings: No. 1 (Jan/Feb 1990) - [no. 19] (Jan/Feb 1993).
It is not yet available in PERiodical Source Index (PERSI) at this time.

Spelling variations which appear in the newsletter:
La Lond
La Londa
La Lone
La Long
La Loude
La Lowde
La Lunde

As an aside, if looking in indexes at one of the counties up north (MI) they had the LALONDEs indexed as SALONDE, the indexer could not read the handwriting properly.

Please participate in this site by asking for LALONDE/LALANDE relatives to join, post queries, obits, pics, links and family history. I do not have it all. Your support and input is appreciated.

There are two articles on the same subject of a LALONDE accompaning Pierre VERENDRYE on his expedition of exploration, they are free downloads available from Google books:

Pam, Have quickly gone through the RootsWeb site. Interesting, I had a lot of the data in my LALONDE database but never put it in my Anishnawbe database. The Anishnawbe database deals mainly with the Indians & non-Indians who marry into the families, so a lot of siblings are left off if they did not marry Indians. However, I did not have some of the sibs connected (in the Anishnawbe database) so some of the "loose-end" LALONDES are now connected and other corrections will be made, thanks so much for bringing this to my attention.

It should be noted that the metis LALONDEs in family #2 are from the LALONDE "dit" LESPERANCE (aka L'ESPERANCE) family. I do have a lot on them and will post later.

Thanks, Jim.
