Information About Posting

To help organize things I've made discussion threads for all the regions of Italy. If you know where the people you are researching lived, please post your queries, information, etc. in the appropriate thread. If you don't know where in Italy the people you are researching lived or if they lived in multiple areas, go ahead and post to the Comment Wall below. Also, if you feel your post is urgent or you want it to be viewed by the whole group, post to the Comment Wall.

Please don't spam the Comment Wall or Discussion Forum. If you have multiple posts you would like to share, try and combine them. Also, if you would like to post something in Italian, please add an English translation as not all of us know Italian. Thanks!

Seeking any information on the Aulicino, Iesaoli, and Vinciguera families in and around Naples, Maddaloni, and Caserta in the Region of Compania, Italy. ALSO, Gullotta in Castelmola, Province of Messina, Sicily; Dagostino in Monguiffi-Melia, Messina, Sicilia and Caudo round Graniti, Messina, Siciila. Time fram: pre 1900, but am interested in finding living persons in these areas with these names.

If anyone is interested in doing a DNA test on ANY SURNAME in the regions of Campania or the Province of Messina, see the following DNA projects:

Just getting started with my husband's genealogy - the Franchinis of Lucca, Italy. I blog over at A CANADIAN FAMILY but there's nothing Italian there yet - just Acadian & French-Canadian.

Anybody know how I could find out wedding or birth records in Italy. I have a German ancestor who eloped from Germany and got married to a German woman in Italy, then had a daughter, and the wife's family forced them to get divorced. He then came to the United States and remarried. His daughter from his second wife has been trying for years to locate her half sister. We have no idea where in Italy they were. Any ideas?

Researching in the Abruzzo region for ancestors and descendants of VALENTINI & CIFERNI families.

Beginning research on the FREDIANI ancestors in or around Lucca as well.
