As for now not alot more to add but will be adding some new info to this in the next few months.  I do my family tree during the winter and would love to answer any questions that you might have.  Please ask away and I will look at what I have and hopefully be able to help you on your quest as well.

I'm related to a John Hiatt who married Elizabeth Witham, 1828 -1887 most likely in Nebraska. His daughter Alice M. Hiatt married a Scott McCullough in North Platte, Nebraska

hi I was born in Wales although I am now an Australian and live in Melbourne. My GREAT GRANDMOTHER ON MY MOTHERS SIDE WAS ALICE ANN CROOK NEE HIATT{HYATT]. i KNEW HER AS SHE LIVED TO BE 100. I have been able to trace all of her family. She was BORN IN NAILSEA SOMERSET in 1862, her parents were JABEZ AND MARY. MARY was born in WRAXALL SOMERSET, in 1838, and JABEZ in NAILSEA.. this seems to be about 40 miles from Shepton Mallet . we may not be of the same family. I did read that the name Hiatt is one of the very oldest recorded in England. in the book THE GENEOLOGIST nsvol 11 1898 by STREET A. J. DEWIE REF. 929.442 HIST. ON P.XX THERE IS A REF. TO THE NAME HIATT FROM 1601.
JABEZ came to Wales with his brother HENRY AND WIFE SUSANNA, they were coal miners in CWMBRAN, and lived in cwmbran square.
I found the Christening record of JABEZ his parents were JAMES AND MARYANN, AND THE CHRISTENING WAS AT ST JAMES TROWBRIDGE WILTSHIRE. IN 1838. THATS ABOUT IT. KATE Welsh coal mines attracted a lot of immigration into what had been a very rural countryside.

I have many descendants with the Hiatt name. I have the family back to Bartholomew Hyatt Born- ABT 1587 in Shepton Mallet, Somersetshire, England. And his son was Thomas Haytt born about 1610 in Shepton Mallet, Somersetshire, England and Died Sep 9, 1656 and his wife was Elizabeth Russell Born- ABT 1626 Shepton Mallet, Somersetshire, England. i would love to go farther than Bartholomew if you have anything at all please let me know. I have alot of Hiatt's from Pa and Indiana.
