Reduce photo size
I generally take 400-600 grave pictures in one shoot. Sometimes I take them at a higher resolution than findagrave allows. Who knows of a good program that will reduce the megabyte and pixel size of all the pictures at once so they may be posted to the memorials.

I use Corel Photo House 8. Open the photo in Corel, then you can go into Image Properties on the tool bar. Click on the 'maintain ratio' so it shrinks both horizontal and vertical at the same time and use the down arrows to reduce the pic. to a 250 kb size that Findagrave requires. The kb size of the pic. will appear on the bottom of the window you are using so you'll know instantly what the size is. Then save it and you can send it to FAG.

I use (Corel) Paint Shop Pro. This is a $100 program that you can often find on sale for around $70. There are also a number of open-souce, free programs like Gimp, Paint.net, Picasa, PhotoScape, and others. I assume you are running Windows. These all have Windows versions. You can google "free photo editing" to find them all.

You can do batch resizing in Picasa. With the images selected choose "export to folder" from the file menu. In the options dialog choose "resize" and select the pixel width you want.
Picasa is free software from Google. It does not have all the capabilities of commercial applications but for basic organizing and simple editing of images it works just fine.
