I am looking for information on William Evans or Margaret Regina Evans. Here is what I have:

William Evans + Mary Lucey =
Margaret Regina Evans + Charles John Fitzpatrick (m. 1880 WI) =
Cecelia Margaret Fitzpatrick (b. 1883 IA) + Carl William Cummins (m. 1911)

Hope I can find a connection :-)

I am looking for information on Lewis Evans born in Virginia and Anna Graves born in Georgia. Anna was Lewis' second marriage and they settled in Cherokee Georgia. Specifically, they were African Americans but I'm told that there was a strong Native American blood line from physical features, etc.
Linda:

No William link, or Midwest connection? It doesn't sound like a connection.

However, the African American blood might explain the shape of my grandmother's nose. I always thought there could be an African American in her background. And now that I think about it, my grandmother did get quite a reddish-brown color when she tanned, so perhaps the Native American blood is also there.

I will let you know if I find any other links for the Evans branch of my family, just in case they connect somewhere!! Let me know if you find anything else about Lewis and his ancestors :-)

Happy New Year,

Carole
Carole,

Thanks for responding. There's a book produced in Gordon Co. on the 150 years of history. There's many Evans in that book and also since the Evans are descendants of Native Americans and lived near the New Echota, Calhoun, Georgia, it's possible some could have migrated to the midwest (The Trail of Tears). (FYI)

Thanks again and I will post if I find any information.

Linda
I will look that one up when I can find the time to get into genealogy again :-)

Thanks,

Carole
Hello, my gggrandmother is Polly Evans, b. 1814 in Tompkins Co., married to Phineas Burt, b. 1807 in Oneida Co. They were both born in NY, married in 1829 in Tioga Co., NY and moved to Cuba, Allegany Co....Machias, Cattaraugus Co..Amity,Allegany Co. then onto Brown Co., Wisconsin in 1863. They had twelve children all born in those different locations in NY. All of the children and their spouses came to WI also. I believe some of Polly's family came out to WI also, especially her mother Sarah Polly Evans Pittsley, married a second time to John Pittsley and her brother Joe Evans and possibly some Evans in Oconto Co. and Brown Co. A Henry and Henrietta are buried next to Phineas and Polly in S. Lawrence Cemetery, in Lawrence Township, Brown Co., WI. If you see any connection as you do your research please let me know. I haven't been able to locate Polly or Phineas' parents in NY and I think the Evans might of originated in MA.
Regards, Gloria
Hmmm, there may be a Wisconsin connection here. I just know my William Evans had a daughter who got married in Wisconsin. I haven't had enough time to do the deep research yet for this line. I will definitely keep your Evans history in mind and will let you know if I find any connections when I do find the time. Thanks for the update, Gloria.
