I descend from Martha "Patsy" Jackson (b. about 1823, KY), dau of William P. Jackson and Jinney Sallee. She married in Washington Co., Missouri to James L. Sullivan (born before 1800, Louisville, KY). He was many years older than her. James Sullivan was a school teacher and fiddle player, so he was probably better educated than most people of that time. No one knows his ancestry, to my knowledge. He may well have had a surname with a different spelling. They had many children.
Did Elizabeth Sullivant/Sullivan have brothers who went to Kentucky?
